like the Stars Judges
Three local, engaged couples are learning to dance
with the help of Dance New York in Marion. See them perform their
dance at the Iowa Bridal Planner Expo on January 13th, 1:45
PM at the U.S. Cellular Center, center stage. A panel of
judges will select a grand prize winner. Please help cheer them
on!

Derrick Murray |
Derrick has been dancing socially and competitively
as an amateur since 2001, and turned pro in 2006. In the last
year, Mr. Murray has coached his students to many honors at
top Pro/Am competitions across the country including: •
2007 Iowa Dancesport Classic
• 2007 Wisconsin State Dancesport Championships
• 2007 Kansas City Heart of America Championships
• 2007 Ohio Star Ball
• 2007 Las Vegas Holiday Dance Classic
Derrick teaches all styles of Ballroom and Latin dances at
the Dance New York studio in Marion, including: Waltz, Tango,
Foxtrot, and Latin dances such as Rumba, Cha Cha, and East
Coast Swing among others.

Tiffany has taught in many different studios over the past
seven years. She has choreographed for numerous solos, duets,
and dance teams in Missouri and Tennessee. She has been dancing
for twenty six years various styles including ballet, tap,
jazz, and hip hop. These are some of her accomplishments.

L.D. is no stranger to the stage having performed
all over the United States. Most recently in Disney's Aladdin-
A Musical Spectacular at The Hyperion Theater in Anaheim, CA;
Tim Rice and Elton John's Aida at The Wells Fargo Pavilion in
Sacramento, CA; The Radio City Rockettes Christmas Across America
at The Fabulous Fox Theater in St. Louis, MO; and on the open
seas with Carnival Cruise Lines.
He has taught and choreographed at several Studios and Universities
including; Synthesis Performing Arts Studio in Los Angeles,
CA; Lou Conte Dance Studio in Chicago, IL; Terpsichore Dance
Company in Louisville, KY; Ball State University in Muncie,
IN and at Art In Motion in Marion, IA.
L.D. currently is the Artistic Director of MOvMNT Dance Company
and owner of SYNTHESIS Massage Therapy located in Downtown
Cedar Rapids.
